Hi Friends! I'm Back!
Brandywine Falls was on my list of places to see! A short walk throught the forest led me to a splendid view of the falls, suddenly spouting out directly from a cliff and cascading 230 feet down into a lake at the bottom of a steep walled canyon! " Please hold on tightly, so I don't end up swirling around down there," I pleaded to my traveling companions. "I need to complete my travel plans for the library!"
The morning in the forest brought back memories of my growing up in the forests of Maine. All was quietly beautiful, with the sun sending streams of light through the leafy branches. Velvety moss covered every rock, stump, and fallen branch, as if a blanket had been gently laid down. Our eyes were the only witnesses to this serene perfection. I do miss my forests!!
Back to the road...and what did we see??? One of my Bear Buddies came out of the woods to the road to greet me! Hey, Buddy, great to see you! You have grown and I know you must be hungry, but we've got to move on to Vancouver!
Vancouver is the biggest city in Canada, and people love it here. It has tall buildings but also mountains and water, parks and flowers. People are outside as much as they can be, riding bikes, walking, enjoying the clean air.
Vancouver has so many creative people, and I thought I would remind all the creative children and adults who come to the library, that this summer we are having an art contest...so here are some ideas I found at the Circle Craft, an artist's co-op in Vancouver on Granville Island! Get thinking so we have MANY participants!!
